Today, we're excited to spotlight, Joyce Croteau, Business Development Center Manager, in this week's "Women in the Driver's Seat" feature, celebrating her leadership and impact.
What inspired you to pursue a career in the automotive industry?
I've always enjoyed helping others and solving problems, and I saw the automotive industry as a perfect avenue to do just that. I wanted to make a positive impact on people's lives through exemplary customer service.
What part of your job do you find most satisfying?
The best part of my job is working with my team and collaborating with managers across different brands. I love knowing that our collective efforts contribute to the success of each brand and help our stores grow revenue. We come together every day, focused on doing our best work and supporting each other. Seeing the tangible impact of our efforts, both for the brands we represent and the team we've built, fills me with a sense of pride and accomplishment.
What motivates you every morning?
My family and the desire to support my team.
What has been one of the most rewarding moments in your career?
A deeply rewarding aspect of my career has been building and developing the BDC from the ground up. Witnessing its growth from a single store to now serving 17 stores has been incredibly gratifying. Creating processes that support our stores' expansion and empower my team to thrive has been instrumental in our success.
How do you feel women have made a unique contribution to the automotive industry?
I believe women bring a unique perspective to the automotive industry. With a different set of eyes and a softer approach when needed, we offer a fresh outlook that enriches the automotive industry. Our ability to multitask and adapt mirrors the diverse roles we fulfill at home. These qualities enable us to navigate challenges effectively and contribute positively to the industry's growth and innovation.
Can you share a lesson or insight you’ve gained during your career journey?
One significant lesson I've learned throughout my career journey is the importance of effectively working with diverse personalities. Each interaction presents an opportunity for growth and understanding, and I continuously strive to bring out the best in myself and others.

What advice would you give to other women aspiring to pursue a career in the automotive industry?
For women entering the automotive industry, embracing adaptability and teamwork are crucial for success. It can be very tough at times, but you must stay strong and keep learning. Let the achievements of other women inspire you to pursue leadership roles.
What hobbies do you enjoy?
I enjoy spending quality time with my family, cooking delicious meals for loved ones, exploring new destinations through travel and love being outside enjoying every season.
